Is Midnight dead in My Hero Academia?
The events we are about to describe took place during the Paranormal Liberation War arc in My Hero Academia. The months pass until the end of March. Thanks to Hawks, the Hero Public Safety Commission found that the League of Villains and the Meta Liberation Army merged into the Paranormal Liberation Front, with Tomura Shigaraki as the main leader. Hawks also informed them of the PLF’s organization, hiding places, and plans.
The Commission gathers a large force of Pro Heroes, including Midnight and Yuei students like Fumikage Tokoyami, Denki Kaminari, Juzo Honenuki, and Kinoko Komori. Their mission is to storm Gunga Mountain Villa, the main base of the villainous organization Paranormal Liberation Front.
Midnight reassures Kinoko, who is nervous that the students will only assist in the initial assault and can retreat afterward. As the heroes attack, Denki expresses reluctance to be on the front line, but Midnight emphasizes the importance of his Quirk and encourages him to see it as aiding heroes who lack his abilities. Denki strongly disagrees with this perspective.
Midnight helps ease Denki’s nerves, suggesting he focus on someone important to him to gain resolve. This advice empowers Denki to join the fight. The heroes launch a surprise attack on the Paranormal Liberation Front, catching them off guard and defeating many soldiers before they can counterattack.
Midnight uses her Sleepwalker Quirk to put PLF members to sleep, employing fans to spread the sleep-inducing aroma. As Gigantomachia awakens, Midnight is carried by Kamui Woods, swinging through the trees to reach Gigantomachia’s face.
As Midnight notices the approaching Gigantomachia, she unintentionally collides with construction debris released by Mr. Compress, causing her to fall. Concerned about stopping Gigantomachia, Midnight contacts Creati and informs her of the need to use an illegal anesthetic to put the giant to sleep. Despite Kamui Woods’ reservations, Midnight convinces him that if they can’t stop Gigantomachia by force, they must resort to putting him to sleep with his Quirk. Dabi then attacks Kamui Woods with a stream of blue fire.
Midnight contacts Creati, informing her of the situation. Before she can explain further, she is ambushed by a Dabi regiment adviser. The adviser suggests delivering the anesthetic to the Heroes and evacuating if the situation becomes too difficult. Despite recalling Creati’s leadership skills, Midnight’s stamina runs out, and she is killed in battle. After the war, Class 1-A students, including Mina, Eijiro, Momo, and Rikido, discover Midnight’s body in the forest and mourn her death.

As you could’ve seen, Midnight’s killer is a number two adviser from Dabi’s regiment. We’ve actually seen the guy and he has reappeared in later chapters, even fighting some of the heroes, but we do not know his name. As of yet, he is an anonymous villain in the series and we are quite certain that his identity will be revealed in the future, so we only have to wait a bit.
