Otto Kilcher Bear Hunting
In the year 2015, Kilcher’s brother (Atz Kilcher) and his then-wife Jane, and the TV production company associated with their show faced charges because they used a helicopter during a bear hunt while filming an episode in the year 2014. In Alaska, it’s against the law to use any aircraft to find animals to hunt or to use a helicopter in hunting. All 3 of them pleaded not guilty to the charges. However, because Atz got seriously injured in a hiking accident, the case was put on hold. Eventually, the charges against the Kilchers themselves were dropped, but the production company, Wilma TV, had to pay a fine of $17,500 for their involvement.
