I really hate the Terrablade and everything that it stands for. It's the crown jewel of Terraria, the ultimate pre-pillar weapon, which I don't like because Terraria is a game about variety in choices. Luckily the Terrablade used to really suck so I didn't use it much in the past, but ever since 1.4.1 and especially 1.4.4, it is just too powerful for how easy and risk-free to obtain that I end up using it every playthrough. Why fight the moons/fishron/eol/martians/ooa or explore the post-plantera dungeon when you can just get a terrablade, which is better than the vast majority of weapons from those events, and is much more consistent and easy to obtain?
I also hate the boomstick, because it's just so inaccurate, ugly and annoying. I'll still use it over the evil guns because it's just better, and ever since 1.4.3.3 I often end up getting a boomstick way earlier than I can afford a minishark. The boomstick technically has better dps but I'll still use the minishark over it.

while there aren't a lot of weapons that i specifically "hate" (i literally can't name any specific one right now), i will just mention flails... sure they deal a lot more damage than anything at the same stage of the game, but this comes at the cost of being really clunky to use 99% of the time
if there's really nothing better i can use at the time then i'll stick to them, sure, but otherwise i'd rather go with something that doesn't demand as much from my barely functioning brain
again, i don't hate flails (in fact. the Drippler Crippler is arguably one of my favourite weapons in the whole game) but they're just not really my thing either

Compared to Stardust Cell, Dragon doesn't have cool animations and I dislike how clumsy its AI can be at times. But I still end up using it because it's the best minion for Moon Lord.

Fairy wings. I hate how they look, I hate how annoying it is to get the fairy dust early hardmode, and I hate that I still use them. I have no legitimate reasons to hate the fairy wings so much, except maybe the small grind to get the fairy dust, but its just their looks. Vanity has always been a huge part of Terraria to me for some reason, and the fairy wings just never suit anything I'm wearing. I will always choose ice wings over fairy wings but fairy wings are just easier to get and also glow so... guess im stuck with them.

Prolly the minishark.
It's not that I hate the item, I just hate how much I tend to rely on it for a solid chunk of pre hardmode.

Yea that is reasonable. Kind of hard to try other items in the game when you know the minishark works. You don't want to grind for ages for an item that performs lower than the minishark. There are definitely alternatives but the minishark is just too easy to get, requiring literally no grind. Now I don't like that I rely on it, thanks a lot!

The worm scarf, i use it because it brings a great defense even on hardmode, but for me its kind of a waste of space because it doesnt really give me anything more cool to experiment with aside from ultra high defense builds and that kind of stuff
